Director Carolina Alvarez was born in Ecuador, South-America and moved to the US in the year 2000. She earned a Bachelors Degree in Marketing in her hometown of Guayaquil, and worked in the advertising field for over a decade. Instructor Tatiana Moreno is a native Spanish speaker from Colombia and has been working for several years with both school-agers and pre-schoolers. She studied Economy in Colombia and has lived in several cities including Houston—where she studied at Rice University—and London, where she worked as an insurance underwriter for Royal and SunAlliance. Her teaching experience includes working for 3 years as a Spanish teacher in Austin and extensive volunteer work in her church and programs such as "Listener "with Miami Dade County. She has a 10-year-old son, 8-year-old daughter and 18-month-old baby boy who are completely bilingual in Spanish and English. She is a firm believer in the importance of learning 2 or more languages at an early age, and has had much success in teaching languages to her students. Technical Lead Joe Alvarez is a Cuban-American who has been bilingual all his life. He has a degree in Architecture from Cal Poly, San Luis Obispo and has been working in the IT field since 1991. We have also attended the workshop Protecting God’s Children offered to all Catholics working with children in Austin. |
